When we were given 5 minutes to decide what to cook to suit the theme "Food for Kids" or "Santapan Kanak-kanak", for the Ideal Celebrity Chef Challenge, I juggled with a few ideas about what to cook using Ideal Evaporated Milk that looks attractive and tasted delicious... The whole package! I decided it was best to stick with what I cooked often at home... Pancake Stacks!
Ingredients
- all-purpose flour, sifted1.5 cups
- teaspoons baking powder, sifted3
- teaspoon salt1
- sugar1 tbsp
- Ideal evaporated milk1 cup
- water0.3 cup
- egg1
- Ideal Evaporated Milk0.5 cup
- Chocolate Chips1 cup
- sugar1 tbsp
- Put all the ingredients in a small pot.
- Cook on low fire.
- Continue cooking & stirring for about 10-15 minutes or until the sauce thickens.
- green apples, peeled, cored & cubed2
- brown sugar3 tbsp
- water0.3 cup
- Put all the ingredients together in a small pan.
- Cook for 10 minutes on low fire or until apple softens.
- Layer in between the pancakes.
Instructions
- 1.
In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.
- 2.
Make a well in the center and pour in the milk, egg. Mix well until smooth.
- 3.
Heat a lightly oiled griddle over medium high heat. Add a little butter.
- 4.
Pour the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake.
- 5.
Brown on both sides and serve hot.
